Neurophysiology Scientist (paediatric) - Grade 3 - Full-Time, ongoing
Royal Children’s Hospital
This is an ongoing position, at 80 hours per fortnight within the neurophysiology unit. The Grade 3 Scientist in Neurophysiology is responsible for the recording and analysis of routine EEG monitoring, ambulatory EEG monitoring, long-term inpatient video EEG monitoring and intraoperative multimodal evoked potential monitoring. This position also involves performing intracranial EEG monitoring and providing support during nerve conduction and EMG recordings and programming of the vagal nerve stimulator. A component of this role will involve the scientist being part of the after-hours roster providing neurophysiology services during weekends and public holidays. Classification for this position will range from Grade 3, Year 1 – Grade 3, Year 4 (RY9-RZ3).
Your skills and experience:
Essential:
• Bachelor of Science or Applied Science
• Widely experienced with sound knowledge and skills relating to an extensive range of diagnostic neurophysiology tests or procedures.
• Proven capacity for clinical leadership in a team environment and ability to work well as a senior team member
• Membership with an appropriate Professional Body (NSSA, ANTA, AAIM)
Desirable:
• Experience in a tertiary paediatric neurophysiology unit
• Post graduate qualification or undertaking a post graduate course
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in health or related field
